You just answered your own question. Take the chondro out of the 15 gallon and put some nice fish in it. Put your animal in a tub or a enclosure built for arboreal snakes.. there MANY out there. This alone will slove your humidity problems hands down.



Your chondro should have come with a an ID card letting you know when it ate, deficated or shed. If you dont have one, contact your breeder. This should give you a great idea how often your animal sheds.
