Only if the humidity is consistently below 50%. Go above that for any stretch of time and they will get RNS (Runny Nose Syndrome) as sure as the sun rises in the East. Once they get it, they have it forever. I have Golden's (Graeca Terrestris and Graeca Soussensis) and have seen what happens first hand.



FWIW, 8 square feet is far too small an area for any Greek. They are roaming torts. For all Mediterranean species you'll want 4-5 square yards of space for every 4 inches of carapace length. So if you Golden's are 4 inches long, you'd want a 4' x 6' pen. Add 20-25% for every additional tort. Some tropical species (such as Spider torts) don't need as much room. You could have 4-6 in a 4 x 6 pen with no trouble at all. Cram that many Mediterranean species in that size space for any length of time and you'll have stressed torts in no time. I speak from experience.
