I think the actual definition of hypomelanistic is 'lacking' black pigment but I sm not 100% sure. If you look at most hypo boas in general they do have black pigment toward the tail. Nics in general are boas that have tons of dark pigment so the hypos are ones lacking the same amount of dark pigment...if that makes sense lol.
