I got my new flash (nikon sb-800) in the mail today so of course I used my favorite test subjects to try it out (boas!).

Most, if not all of these were taken with the flash bounced, meaning pointed towards the ceiling and bounced back down to illuminate the boa. Im pleased with the results. I eventually want to have 3 or 4 of these flashes for my setup (they communicate wirelessly).

First up is a 2004 Lokken Pastel Het Anery Female

And next is a Clay English 2003 Orange Pastel Male

Neat eh? Notice the shadows are below as a pose to behing (because of the bounce). It will be really fun when I have multiple flashes and can eliminate shadows entirely. One of the key things I noticed is that using bounce flash does not wash out color as badly as straight on... very good for boa pictures.
