I have 16 species of the boiga genus rigth now, and they all allmost never lie on the bottom. If you ask me itīs just about having your terrarium warmed up the right way.
Many boigaīs dont like to hang in a branch, but lie on it.Offcourse branches of this size are hard to use in a terrarium.
I solve this problem by making plateaus.
By having this plateaus at different levels in a high terrarium the animals can choose the temperature they prefer.
If I see a boiga laying on the bottom I know it will shed his skin soon (more moist on the bottom), or itīs unhealthy.
I use real plants in all my boiga enclosures including an enclosure containing a 2,5 meters female boiga cynodon.Using the right strong plants (for example ficus species) and letting branches go trough this plants works very well here.

Greetings

Jelmer
