My 6 month old female columbian has something weird going on with her vent- it does not look like a full blown rectal prolapse, just that the tissue on the inside of the vent is swollen and protruding from the vent a little bit. Since there is just swelling, no tissue to push back in, will soaking her in sugar water help the situation? I can't get her to a vet until Monday if necessary since the regular ones are closed, and the emergency clinic won't see herps.
I was a bit worried about all of this since she hasn't defecated in a couple of weeks despite still eating during this time, so I'm concerned about possible constipation, although I've also heard that boas can go for stretches of time before defecating.
Any advice as to what I can do to keep her in decent shape until I can see a vet on Monday would be really appreciated- Thanks!
