An interesting theory. You ought to test it. Here's how: Take one six-sided die. Roll it four times -- one roll for each egg in a four-egg clutch.
1 = albino (two albino genes)
2 = heterozygous albino (albino gene from the father and normal gene from the mother)
3 = heterozygous albino (normal gene from the father and albino gene from the mother)
4 = normal (two normal genes)
5 = no meaning, roll again until the result is in the 1-4 range
6 = no meaning, roll again until the result is in the 1-4 range
If the die is balanced on an edge when it stops, the egg contains a dead embryo of unknown genotype. 
Repeat for 50-100 cluches, and report the results here.
