OK, I'll bite.

In my opinion, even though it may work great, this thing looks half-assed. The probes are simply taped at their ends, and it seems as though someone with a fair degree of electrical knowledge manufactured it by himself. Is a do-it-yourself job necessarily inferior when compared to a mass-produced unit? Certainly not. The question is whether or not it's worth $269!!!!! Even with the night-drop feature and alarm, it seems way too expensive. I didn't look at the thing too long, since it looked a cheap for something so pricy. Maybe I'm missing something. Does it impregnate boas, too?

Check out

or

http://www.helixcontrols.com

Each of these companies offer "temperature controllers" or thermostats that have a night-drop feature for $170 or less. They can both control the heat for multiple cages simultaneously. I just had to decide between these two and went with Helix myself. Good luck with your decision.
