My males show no interest in the female after she ovulates. If your female is looking thin maybe it's time to think of next year. It's possible she didn't have enough fat stored up to produce for you this year. I start cycling my breeders in mid Sept. and then start introducing the pairs from mid Oct - mid Nov. and once I put them together, they stay together until ovulation or til the male shows no interest. Generally when I introduce the male will start courting within 24 hrs. and sometimes it takes a couple weeks for activity, if nothing is happening after 3 weeks I'll seperate and feed the female and sometimes the male (depends on his size/age). And then re-introduce the male a few weeks later and repeat the process.

Bottom line is that the female needs to be well fed but not obese. Hope this helps, Mike Derks
