Waxworms have almost no nutritional value. They are extremely fatty and can lead to fatty liver disease. Yes, this could be your problem. I would get rid of the waxworm right away, was there a reason to decided to feed them strictly waxworms to begin with? Even when these are used to put weight back on a female after breeding season, it is recommended to give only 2-3 once a week.

Any other feeder insect is better for a Leo than waxworms. Good choices would be crickets, superworms, mealworms, silkworms or roaches. And also you need to be gut loading your feeder insects to get the most nutritional value out of them.
