I used white kitchen and bath caulk in the cracks on all my cages. I used on miscut spots, too. It is very cleanable and waterproof. They use it around tubs. I let them air out for 2 weeks, so the smell disipated. I have had my snakes in them since last year, and they're all fine. Derek
