Posted by: erico at Wed Jan 11 15:09:26 2006 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by erico ] I have had one for nearly twenty years (and one for about 7 years) and, of ALL the chelonians (snappers included) this is the most dangerous species. It can reach around and bite you while you are holding the extreme rear of the shell (and you can't hold it by the tiny tail). I still have a scar from those awful tooth-like projections from the jaws BUT..... it is among my very favorite turtles in a large collection. [ Hide Replies ]
