Another one of those cage questions...

I have a 3 1/2 foot water monitor and I keep her in a converted chameleon cage which is 6 feet tall and 7 feet wide. She has all of the needed water stuff but that's not the thing I want to get into. My question is can I keep her in a cage meant for a rainforest arboreal snake(ETB)? The cage is easily 9x10 and has a land/surf option as well as sturdy branches for basking and even a nifty waterfall. The set up set me back around 7 grand and my rep vet said it would work as long as I remembered to lower some of the branches as to prevent injuries from falling. But I wanted to get some of the most reptuable all knowings before I did anything.
