The main problem with pegboard is not the danger of the wood to the snake although that could be a problem. The main problem is humidity's effect on the pegboard the one side is coated but the holes are bare and will act like a sponge to the humidity. Your best bet is to make it one solid piece. Then cut holes for soffet vents for ventalation.
