Rainbow boas

This may sound like a stupid question, but I bought a boa from a friend of mine. He said it is a red tail, which I told him it wasn't, but we recently noticed it shimmered in rainbow colors in the sunlight, does this mean it is either part rainbow or a certain breed? Otherwise it just looks like a normal boa constictor. Is this just what boas do? I haven't had one before and haven't done much research on different types of boas. I'm just curious, thanks in advance for the info.
