Colubrid-aphilia pretty much nailed it.

The only thing I'll add is that if you're attaching the track to a pretty tall substrate dam you won't be able to use the spring-loaded clamps pictured in his other thread. If you don't have clamps that are long enough you really don't need to rush out and buy them. I have used masking tape to hold the track in place while the liquid nails dries.
