>>Colubrid-aphilia pretty much nailed it.

>>The only thing I'll add is that if you're attaching the track to a pretty tall substrate dam you won't be able to use the spring-loaded clamps pictured in his other thread. If you don't have clamps that are long enough you really don't need to rush out and buy them. I have used masking tape to hold the track in place while the liquid nails dries.

Chris is right about the litter damn, I overlooked it. The two boxes I got do have a small litter damn on one section, but not the bottom section. They were already built so I didn't mess with them. The other reason is that the openings are exactly the same top and bottom as it sits, if I add a litter damn to the bottom cage in each box, then I have to get different sized glass. Not a big deal, but for simplicity I chose to just run with it.

When I build my next cages from scratch, I will design them with the litter damn for sure. If I have to have them on my current build, I'll just glue a strip of 2 or 3 inch plexi behind the doors, otherwise it's going to not have them on the bottom cages.

If you use the Loctite "Power Grab" you won't have to tape anything, it's thick like a paste and you can press it in place and it will stay. I chose to clamp them to make sure everything was perfectly level and flat, it's overkill I know but I'm a perfectionist (and I have a bunch of clamps that needed to do something).
