anything dark and big enough for them to get in will work. They like it tight so smaller is better. I picked up a bunch of plastic bowls in various sizes from my local dollar store. I used a hole saw to cut arches in the sides. A little sanding and viola cheap hide box. The bowl hides work great, lends itself to the natural coiling of the snake and usually they'll be 99% inside with just the tip of their nose stuck out. Probably waiting for some juicy morsel to wander by.

For larger hides an inverted tub would work. Full grown adults IMO don't typically need/use hides.
