Micheal,

It is actually the opposite. Most of the BCI lines have been around longer. Most of the suris you see as adults are originally wild caught, or farmed babies (from a gravid WC female). I would say a much smaller percentage is F1 captive bred. There are very few F2 out there (unlike colombians where mutliple generation animals are easy to find). Surinames come in a wide variety, but most of what you see in captivity looks similar to some of the nicer batches that have brought it.

No BCC lines have been selectively breed any where near what has happened in colombians. Most of this is the fact that BCC take longer to get to maturity and are harder to get to reproduce.

We are just on the tip of what will be produced in BCC over the next few years!

Anyways, both sub species are beautiful IMO......
