Very nice litter Bob, Congrats.
To your question. I wouldn't worry about the Xray. When a female gives birth to a relatively larger litter like the one you had with few slugs, it is very rare that she didn't get things out. It is natural for her to contract and contract many times and sometimes it lasts for a few hours with nothing to come out. Sometimes she opens up and extracts her Anus and it even looks like a baby or two may come out, but that is just the natural process of her getting everything out. Since she was contracting on her own, and nothing came out, you are fine. Where you get nervous is if she STOPS contracting and she looks big. Even though she may look like she is a little big, that is normal. Some shrink right up and other larger girls stay big.
Here is the key. Feed her. If she is agressive on the food, you're fine. If she doesn't eat, then there is something wrong. Pull her out, and make sure she doesn't smell the babies, and offer her a meal..
If you do take her to get an x-ray, that is stressful for her. Also, if she does have babies in her, the only thing you can do is give her oxytocin, and that just makes her contract and contract. Since you saw her contract and contract with nothing coming out, that is what will happen if you give her oxytocin.
Say she does have babies stuck, the only smart way to get them out is to have a qualified vet remove them. If you give her Oxytocin, and she contracts and contracts with nothing coming out, that can be very harmful to her.
I bet you 100 bucks she is fine, but try the feed thing first. If she doesn't eat, then take her to the Vet and get your X ray.
IF she gobbles down the food, you're fine.
Best of luck, and congrats on the litter.
Take Care, Jeremy Stone
