ok if albino removes black, and anery removes red what removes yellow?

Axanthic - having no yellow color

That is the gene alot of people have been dying to find in boas. Some believe that some type 2 anerys also carry an axanthic gene, but it has not been proven yet. Hope this helps Vinnie

It is hard to tell for sure from the pic, but from the look of it I would say yes. Do you see any red anywhere including the tail or face? If not then yes she is anery. Hope this helps Vinnie

I was thinking about the type 2 gene..I see all these boas selling(for the last few years) that are het blizzard but has anyone ever seen a blizzard boa? I may be wrong cause I havent been watching morphs as much as I used to but to my knowledge theres yet to be one..So that brings me to the question,If nobody has produced a blizzard and people are selling blizzard hets isnt that bad business? Im truly confused about this and was wondering if someone could clear this up for me.. thanks Rich

I am pretty sure that both Jeremy Stone and Peter Kahl have produced still born Blizzards. I know Jeremy has and think Pete has. Basically when buying a het Blizzard you are buying a double het albino type2 anery. I am sure the Blizzard will be produced, but like Jeremy always says that 1 in 16 snake is alot harder to get than it seems. Vinnie

Ok so Im thinking theres gotta be more people out there workin on blizzards other than Mr.Stone and Mr.Kahl and out of all these pairs not one live blizzard(we all know that the still born are light colored freaks) ..Like you said when you buy a het blizzard your buying dbl.het type2 anery and albino but dont expect a white snake? with a name like dbl.het blizzard you'd think you could get a white snake out of the whole deal..Im not trying to be confrontional but I just find this whole type 2 thing a lil odd.

I agree 100% with you that if I were buying a pair of snakes het for Blizzard I would expect to produce a white snake. I just think that when Jeremy coined the name he didn't expect that it would take sooo long to produce one. I'm sure it will happen with time. Maybe the 2 genes together are very weak making things even harder. It is also possible that they are not compatible and a living Blizzard may never be produced. Only time will tell I guess. It sorta reminds me of the Jaguar Carpet Pythons the super version is a lucy, but no living ones have been produced to date. Will they ever be?? I hope so, but who knows. Vinnie

There will definitely be a 'blizzard' (aka type 2 snow) born from these double hets, eventually. Since both traits have been proven individually, I don't see it as 'bad business' to advertise them as such. Double homozygous recessives always take a long time to create, throw in some bad luck and they take even longer. Of course there is always the unlikely possibility of the combination proving lethal, but this is again, unlikely. Not bad business, just proven simple recessive assumption.
