Well, they are Amazon Trees, but still boas right, so I figured I'd share. These are my real addiction and this is the first year I attempted breeding them (along with my CA boas). I wasn't expecting my female to drop for at least a few more weeks, but went out to the snake room (my garage) to find these guys. Total count was these two little stunners, two slugs and two full-term stills (another orange and a solid red). Not sure what happened with the stills, but when I found them, they were kind of wrapped around each other. Anyway, very happy to have these two gorgeous little snappers! Enjoy!

I have long thought about getting into the Amazon Tree Boas - but I like snakes that I can interact with. I have heard them to be a fairly nippy group and this has kept me out.

I always raise from young and handle on a regular basis - which has worked extremely well with Corns, Suris, BCIs, BRBs, CRBs and Balls - no bites as of yet in over 7 years!

What kind of experiences have you had with your collection?

Thanks Iman! That's fantastic that you have had no bites in over 7 years! I think that says something about your choice in individual animals and more importantly, the time and effort you put in with them. I can confidently say though, that if you get an ammie, you will most likely get tagged at some time. If you are looking for a snake to hang out with and hold alot, ammies are not the ones. They bite and musk and are mostly irritable. BUT, if you get a young, confident one that seems pretty calm, chances are good that you can raise it to be much less likely to bite than the majority. Problem with ammies is, they are ultra heat sensitive and I have had even calm snakes start to zone in a hot spot on my wrist or arm and just out of nowhere test it to see if it was edible. For the most part though, I don't get bit because I use hooks and am generally very careful when handling mine, especially my big adults. What I really like about them is their very unique shape, their activity levels (mostly at night though) and most of all, their unbelievable color varieties! So with all that said, here's some pics of my collection, including the daddy of the two in my other post. He's the green one that I am holding and is mostly a really laid back and very handleable guy.

Glad to see one of us had a good successful litter of ATBs. Congrats man. Those are stunning animals. I got rid of my ATBs after having seen tons of copulation but never any litters. Dont know what wasnt working for them. They were a beautiful pair of Garden phase. They sure were some cool boas but I grew tired of them for not ever giving me babies.

Your little newbees make me want some again.

Thanks Brendan. I am hoping for some more litters this upcoming season. Lots of hard work with these guys over the last few years seems to finally be paying off. Admittedly, not the best litter, but I'm extremely happy with the two little beasties!
