Male Breeding Size??

Hoopy Aug 04, 2003 11:15 AM

hello,

I have a male albino Kahl strain that was born in March of 2002. He is currently just shy of 4 feet and eats large f/t rats every friday. He is actually about 44 inches right now. He isn't real thick around yet. I would say he is about this size of a baseball around. Will this male be able to breed for the first time this coming season? Or will he need another year to grow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

HOOPY

i would say chances are good he would breed , if he is 44" and the size of a baseball and a march 02 i would think he would do fine .However i hear ( not postive that albinos are more finicky breeders) with that being said the worst case scenerio is that he would do one of three things .(1) breed and not produce sperm therefore not impregnating the female (2)Not be interested in breeding at all (3) GIVE THE FEMALE SOMETHING TO CARRY AROUND FOR YOU TO BE PROUD OF I currently have a smaller het male ( kahl) breeding to a high white female and he is about 4 ft and size of a big lemon so i would say go for it . maybe someone could enlighten the possible scenerios of a male your size and albino as i dont have a albino as yet and the age to me seems viable .
