My only Daytona pic. Kinda weak huh

LeeBarrie Aug 23, 2006 06:44 PM

I flew into Miami a few days early & to meet Bill Parks & spend a couple days in the Keys. What a blast. We managed to catch dinner (see pic of Bill with the beasties), & do some fishing down there. I also managed to swim with a manatee (very cool) & I also poked a 5' - 6' Morey eel in the eye with my lobster stick (very uncool). Not many fish caught though Bill did have a large shark on the line for around 2 hours before it broke the line. Then we drove up to Daytona on Thursday. I had one heck of a good time. It's always fun to talk to all the old friends as well as meeting the new ones. I didn't find anything I was looking for at the show. Of course everything I was looking for is pretty off the wall these days so I really wasn't expecting to find anything anyway. Though I did somehow pick up a couple of animals.

I always liked the little Dums but have never worked with them for some reason or another. I ended up picking up a pair. These were by far the most pink of any at the show. Unfortunately my pic is pretty crappy and doesn't show the pink. Celia, where were you? You took such a nice picture of my baby Blackhead. I needed you for these little guys. lol

A little Anery female. It goes with the male Bill bought. I'm going to raise her up & send her off to Bill. I've only seen a couple Anery's that I even remotely liked & now I own one. Don't really know what I was thinking. I'm hoping the pair will turn out very contrasty.

My passion has swayed over the years. Right now it's on the Gilas & Blackheads. Or maybe the Diamonds. Or the new laticincta. It just goes on & on. lol

I didn't know San Diego had them. I snorkeled there years ago & mainly remember the Garibaldi. That monster looks mighty tasty.

Yep we got them(lobsters) here and all kinds of other yummy stuff swimming around out there..Thanks for the post though it made me remember how fun lobster hunting was...I just dusted off my gear and my better half and I are setting up a date for the season opening day/night oct.1.I checked the fishing forums I hang out at and they were posting reports about seeing lots of lobster, saying "it looks like its gonna be the year of the lobster".. take care Rich
