I got home from work this evening and one of my female boas was laying with about 3/4 of her body between her head and tail almost upside down. Last night she looked to be ovulating and I saw contractions and she looked to be squeezing them towards her tail section. I'm hoping this is normal, but when my other female ovulated last year, she wasn't so dramatic and it really threw me for a loop. She is healthy from all outward appearances and is eating regularly. Any insight would be helpful.

sounds like you saw ovulation... I think it sounds ok,
maybe you just didn't see the other girl do the same
thing or I think not all go thru the same "motions" so to
speak.. Autumn had a very obvious ovulation and laying on the
side and contractions being seen whereas Lemondrop I saw
some small contractions one day but she never layed on her side
or upside down. (at least, I didn't see it..)

the worries of a snake-grand-parent...can drive yourself crazy!
