This wonderful girl came to us from a good friend... She's 11 years old, a hair over 6 ft, and hovers around 20 lbs.

Isn't 6ft at 11yrs. small? What kind is she? N/P

My first boa was 9yrs old and 5.5', she has continued to
grow slowly over the past 5 years (approx 2').
A common size for an adult boa is 6', not all turn into
9-10 monsters... boas do continue to grow over their whole
life, but a nice healthy (and that girl sure looks big and
healthy!) 6' boa maintained on 1 or 2 large rats every 2
weeks or so will maintain the good size and weight but not
keep putting on the length as they do when young. (meaning,
the food intake is exactly right for the boa to maintain itself
at that size, in this case 6')

But we're all a little different. Boas grow at different rates, their growth will slow down at different ages and lengths, and as previously stated, they don't all become monster lengths.

This particular girl has been fed conservatively most all of her life, and has grown at a healthy natural rate.
