I have always used newspaper for my snakes including the rainbow boas. I find it hard to keep the humidity adequate for my rainbow boas, so I was wondering if i should use Repti-Bark?

Will REpti-Bark raise the humidity up enough and make a difference from using newspaper?

Are there any other substrates that keep humidity in them really good? Any input would be helpful, thx

hi! I am using cocunut bark for my lil rainbow, I dump the
water bowl every week, keeps the humiidity up nicely.
For my adult rainbow, I use newspaper and just provide a
water bowl he can fit snugly into and a rock-shaped hide that
I keep with sphagnum moss... typically he will soak himself
once every week or two, esentially keeping himself hydrated
enough. Babies don't seem to do this which is why I keep
the younger one on the bark. I also spray both tanks every
other day. I find if you use newspaper just make sure to
provide another place with a moist substrate so they can
hydrate as needed.
(for my ATB she has a small rubbermaid tray I keep filled with
damp moss, the rest of the tank is newspaper).
