Hi Charles.
I haven't been around this forum much lately, but I have seen many of your outstanding photos and I believe I remember you posting that you used a Nikon Coolpix. But I forgot the model number.
Which Nikon Coolpix is it?
Also, in a feature comparison, have you seen the same basic capabilities (macro range, pixel count, resolution, lens quality, etc., with lower Coolpix models?

They are both excellent cameras for taking photos of small objects (macro). In general the nikon cameras so not focus well in low light, but if you are going to be taking photos outdoors or with propper lighting I would bet they function better then of the digital cameras out there. As for resolution etc... of course the more you send the better it will get, but honestly if you are just taking pictures of your animals the 2500 is good enough to do the trick.. the downside to the 2500 is the inabililty to add-on lenses and filters.
