What would be the best type of wood that is relatively cheap in price to build a cage for my boas? Also do I get oil based or water based stain and polyurethane? Thanks Matt

Well Steve and I just finished our new tanks and we constructed them out of 3/4" Red Oak Plywood... I used a Polyurethane sealant and they were stained with Midwax products which claim to be non toxic... But either way after the staining and the Poly the "aired out in the garage for about a week before moving them in and setting them up.. i wanted to wait for some of the smell to get out of the tanks....Either way here they are now all set up and they look great! still trying to clear the room so they can have a wall space but Im really happy with them! Really happy
Sincerely,
