This little girl was born in June of 2002. She ate her first meal on her own about 3 weeks ago (mid July 2003, do the math!)

I didn't give up on her.... I almost gave up on her. Flagyl is a miracle drug. Flagyl is my friend.

She didn't eat for the first 13 months of her life? Is that possible? I have never heard of a fast that lasted that long... especially with a baby.
Good luck with her,
Eric

She was force fed and pumped for 9 months... Only thing that kept her alive!

Congrads are an order on your patience and you love for this creature.. Im glad you were willing to spend the time and money it took you to nurse her back to health and I think she is just lovely...

Rose

Trust me... We went through a month or two where we contemplated having her euthanized. There's nothing unique or valuable about this snake (other than the countless hours I have spent massaging food down it's throat!). But... Sometimes it's worth giving it your best shot.

Honestly though... I never got any interest in food out of her until we started pumping small doses of flagyl directly into her stomach with puree'd mouse pinks. At her last pumping, we were giving her 6 mouse pinks or 2-3 rat pinks.

She now eats young adult mice with ease... But I don't want to push it. I'm fairly certain she will need some time to get used to digesting bones and hair.
