Well, in my experience with BCC's, Guyanans have fairly even temperments. I know that there are people who will disagree with me on that. Guyana's are not known for thier agreeable temperment. Of course, as you know - any boa can have it's moments. Really, it just depends on the snake. I have some that are docile and friendly as puppies and a couple that, for some reason, will probably always be a little touchy. I don't keep Peruvians, yet, so I cannot comment on their personality. Honestly, my guyana's are more docile than most of the BCI's that I have. If you buy a baby boa and it gets a lot of personal attention - more than likely (no matter what type of red-tail boa) the snake will be very well-ajusted.
For example, I have a real finger-biter BCI in my collection. However, the more time I take with her the calmer she becomes. I find that, the more friendly and curious the baby boa is - the better the temperment as an adult. Since you have already owned a BCC, picking the right snake for you and your family will probably be very easy. Good Luck!
