How do you tell if your Colombian is bci or bcc?

If it is a columbian than it is a BCI. Usually deep red tails with less black flecking, widows peaks, and a generally larger size are all characteristics of the BCC. Columbian = BCI. Surinam = BCC. Hope I could help.

You got the "larger size" part right. However, I've seen many Peruvians (BCC) that did not have brilliant red tails and had quite a bit of "speckling" and no widows peaks.I've seen Guyanans and Suris with a good amount of speckling as well and few widows peaks. Of course you won't see them posted much because they aren't as sought after. Most people prefer the "clean", "widows peaked" animals.

BCI is not restricted to representing Columbian boas. Central Americans and Hogg island boas fall into this classification as well.

Are there any specific diffrences? My boa has little speckling on the top a decent red tail and speckling on the belly no widow peaks but nice spindles it also has a fair amount of pink.I'm pretty sure it's bci but a friend of mine said it might be bcc because of the speckles on the belly. Either way it's a sweet snake. Thanks.

I couldn't tell for sure without a pic. Can you post one?

The easiest way is price. BCC's generally cost a lot more than BCI's. Unless you paid extra for a BCC, you likely have a BCI.

While this isn't always true, it works most times, IMHO!
