should i buy a Columbian Red Tail Boa?this will be my first snake i have ever owned,i guess im a newbie to snakes.my friend has one and its the coolest guy ever, never bites or even hisses at me,they seem very nice.i have 1 leopard gecko, so i know where to get rats and im familiar with heating pags/ lights and all of the caging crap.i dont know if i should get a male or female,i want the smaller one, i heard the male is overall smaller,so i may get a male but id liek some clarifacation.when they are full grown are they hard to hold and mantain? i dont want a snake that can kill me and stuff, just a calm one that is rather small and just chills out.thanks/

i wouldent get a boa as a first snak mayb as a second snake.get a ball python they get to about 5 somtimes 6 feet and are pretty fat.there temperment is great i have only been bitten once by my male which was my fault in a feeding error i was holding the mouse with my hand and the snake missed and got me on the finger.i seriously dont think a boa is a good first snake you need some expierience with snakes befor you step up to that.
