I just got an email from someone that I kind of took offense to I was just wondering how many people get emails like this.

"Your price is still too high for the snakes. Anery 66% het for snow are being sold for $300 and albinos 66% are $1200 to $1500 (from with big name breeders). Oh well, those are your snakes. I'm just anoyed by overpriced animals."

Now I am asking $1750 for a very nice male albino and an anery female. Both f poss het snow. I am not saying whether or not my price is too high, but I would never email someone and tell them I am annoyed by their prices. I produce almost everything I sell, and I take pride that it is all top notch. I do not sell junk. Ok that is the end of my little rant. Has anyone else had to deal with people like this. Or am I in the wrong?? Thanks. Craig Kade

people have the right to contact you and express their difference of opinion as to your price. What you need to do is show the value in what you sell. -Produced at your place -Healthy -Feeding well w/ records -Documented genetics w/ a guarantee (if possible) -And of course, don't EVER underestimate the value of FLAWLESS customer service. If you can't differentiate your product, then I'd agree with the complaint (if the market is in fact reflective of the email) that your product is overpriced. Differentiation (value) is what's going to bring a price higher than market value, not sentimentality.
I'm not familiar with you as a retailer so I can't really comment on your reputation, but until you can rely solely on your name to get you by with prices that are higher than market, you'll need to prove yourself.

I realy do not feel the pair is over priced. I have seen albino f going for $1650 I understand people may feel that they are overpriced. We all have seen ch balls being sold for $200 just because their pattern is a little tweaked. I don't know about you, but I don't email the owners and tell them their pricing structure annoys me. I just do not purchase, or I offer less. I know not many of you have heard of me, but you will. I have dealt with several of the bigger names already, and they have been very happy with my animals. I do expect word to get around and I will do everything I can to make sure it is good word. Thank you very much for your post though it does help me see the other side. Craig Kade

I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE. PEOPLE NEED TO KEEP THERE NEGATIVE OPINIONS TO THEMSELVES. YOU CAN PUT ANY PRICE THAT YOU WANT ON THEM. IF SOMEONE THINKS IT IS TOO HIGH THEY CAN SIMPLY RESPOND WITH A LOWER OFFER OR NOT AT ALL.

I searched Hi and Lo for Anery females possible het snow and I did not find any under 450 a piece. Screw him, if does not want to pay the price someone will, and he will miss out for the year. Just yesterday someone was selling anerys possible het albino pairs for 500 and then increased it to 600. Dont worry about it.

If you post in the classifieds you are going to get people that want your snakes for less. Everybody wants the best deal when their buying and everybody wants top dollar when their selling. Some pad their price to make a buyer feel like they got a good deal. If I got an email with that comment, my response would have been to ask what they feel is a fair price, maybe it's close enough. When I have received an email with a number that is too low, I simply respond stating that the buyer should do their research, check market prices, and make a reasonable offer. The ones that really bother me are the low offers and comment that some other breeder is selling his stock for a lower price. Then go buy from that breeder is my response. I'm not giving away my stock. That email is not as bad as some of the ones I've received. Frustrating, but when we post in the classifieds, we are going to get some replies that disturb us, insult us, but hopefully at least one that we can respond with SOLD, offer accepted.

Just be thicker skinned. He didn't use a valid email, probably used a fake name. Just wanted to upset someone. His wife yelled at him, his boss gave him crap all day, and now he can anonomously (sp?) take it out on your ad (probably cause his pay check is too small to buy your snake) and you. Just blow it off as a jerk and focus on the good customers.

dont pay no mind to it, from time to time youll get that, seesm to me like somewhere some father cut there child lose on the computer, or ya never know it could be dinkel berry with the ball pythons, either way let the kiddies play and dont worry about it you should be more worried about getting some pics of those snows up here for all of us to see!!!

Yeah emailing people is over the top. If the price is too high (I don't think yours was) no one will buy from you that simple. The only people I have problems with are ball people mostly. I hate people that mention names like pastel when refering to what they know are normal animals. That makes me sick. People that overprice, I look at their ads and say oh well that is too much and move on. Never even thought to email someone to tell them their price was too high. I figure if it is truely too high the snakes will be reposted with a lower price. Simple supply and demand here.

Unfortunately in our society people have this skewed concept that they want everything perfect, they want it now and they want it cheap (or for nothing at all). To that I say "ya get what ya pay for". Personally I am appalled at the trend towards 'cheap' reptiles, which for too many new people to the hobby they figure it's cheaper to replace the animal than take care of it if it gets sick. If YOU think the price for your animals is fair, state why and leave it at that. Heck, if you gave this guy your animals he'd come back later saying something is wrong with them and want you to pay him!!! Just my $0.02

Heck, I get people telling me that my adoption fee for my animals is too high.... most of the time, I ask $35-50... and yet people will e-mail me and blast me for "selling them at fair market value".. Huh?? Even ugly boas or normal balls that size sell for more than 3 times that much, so I can't figure out what the heck they are griping about.

I would like to come to craig kades defense.
First of all I don't think anyone has the right to crit. the prices asked for any animals, if your annoyed with the price of a boa or any other animal keep it to yourself, if your planning on buying that animal and the price is high in your opion offer less.Alot goes into reproducing these animals and until you do it yourself you'll never understand. I have bought 3 boas from craig this year and everyone has been worth every penny. In my opion prices aren't influenced by the market(it doesn't matter what they sold for last year,or this this year) but rather avalability, and thats what influences prices. One year up,one year down and so on.All of craigs snakes are top quaulity, and at at fair price, some even below (market).Heres a F2 Cent.American Hypo I bought from Craig. Nobody produced anything as nice as him(f2 cent.am.) this year.Once agian we are faced with avalability and quality .How much is that worth to you?
