I need some tips on getting a tiny, piece of retained shed off the tail tip

tcdrover Aug 14, 2003 10:22 AM

My favorite little male Guyanan has a tiny piece of retained
shed on the very tip of his tail. I could swear I removed the
entire piece from his tail when he shed, but I guess I missed
the very tip. It doesn't look very good, from underneath it
looks indented like its restricting blood flow or something.

I've tried soaking, vasoline, palmolive and so far nothing has
gotten it off. It is only about a millimeter and a half long
piece on the very tip of his tail. I tried aloe last night. I'll
soak him again tonight and tomorrow. I know I've seen posts
about this before on here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help,
tc

Lengthy soakings (8 hrs, 16hrs, etc.) always work for me. Immediately afterwards, rub the retained skin firmly with your fingers until it peels.
