On the genetic transmission of the pattern anomoly in question,and,the relationship of the animals themselves.In an example like the one you gave,it would depend on if either of the partially striped animals were directly related,and,the nature of the genetic striping,(ie; recessive,or,dominant) the answer becomes tricky,simply because there are so many variables involved,for example,if the animals were unrelated,it could be possible that one might be recessive,and,the other some form of dominant...the offspring might inherit some expressed striping in the first generation,and,actually be het. for a different recessive expression. this would require several generations of controlled breeding trials to accurately sort out,and,identify,many people are not prepared to put forth the effort required to accurately identify these types of situations,and,end up jumping to premature conclusions about genetic anomolies in one,or,two breedings. Some forms of genetic striping rarely produce fully striped animals,and,this can complicate identifying homozygotes from aberrant hets.in recessive strains.
