Hog Island boa questions

chicagopsych Aug 16, 2003 10:40 AM

What makes a high quality baby hog island besides a lack of freckling? Does more pink as a baby always equate to more as an adult? How do the blue adults look as babies vs. the orange/pink ones? In short, I'm wondering how do their colors typically change as they age?
Thanks for your help

It differs from person to person. I prefer my hogs to have little freckling, have high amounts of peach and pink when in light phase, and have defined orange tails. As far as the blues, I have not worked with them yet but plan to. The picture is of what I would call a high end hog but that just my opinion.

As far as I'm concerned, being a REAL Hogg is what makes it high quality. I prefer the speckling. I don't care for the really colorful ones either. I prefer the ones that look natural, not engineered for high amounts of pinks and oranges.

net as usual. Everybody has their own opinions on what they like and that is what makes the reptile industry what it is.
