What is a better bedding for Boas, Aspen shavings, Cedar shavings or Reptibark?

Cedar oils are toxic to reptiles from what I understand. Stick with Aspen if you like wood chips. Personally, I prefer newspaper or paper towels for smaller snakes.

Definitely forget the cedar. Aspen is a good bedding and I prefer it to bark products, but that's just my personal preference. If your enclosure is situated in a living room or someplace where friends and visitors readily see it then I'd tend to use a substrate like aspen to "dress it up" a little. My snakes are in their own room (with the computer) so I'm less inclined to need to have anything fancy under those conditions.

Currently I'm using just good ol' newspaper. I put a number of layers on the bottom of the enclosure and then shred some newspaper in long strips to place in crumpled bunches at each end. The babys and younger boas seem to like the ability to crawl in and out of the crumpled paper (pretending they can't be seen! lol) and therefore giving them what I assume is some sense of security (cover!)...like leaf litter on the forest floor. The big guys just lounge on the surface of whatever substrate they're on, so they don't usually get the shredded paper. Gives me a reason to personally recycle all those stacks of newpapers sitting in the garage!

The combo that Steve mentioned of the flat and shreaded newspaper works great for me too. Can't beat the price either!
