Hi Everyone,

Look what I found the other day.
It is a Eastern Milk Snake.
Not sure what I am going to do with it yet.
Should I keep it, give it to someone or let it go?

Take care,
Tom

I would let it go. I have found them here in Iowa and tried to keep them before I knew it was illegal in Iowa. Most can be difficult feeders. I am not sure where you are, but in Iowa they are hard to find. Here is a cool link to a website that gives info on all of Iowas Snakes including this species.

Sometimes we are so into our herps, that we jump into a situation where we pull a snake out of it's environment which it benefits more in, than out of... Call me a dork, but it is like spiders in the house, by putting them outside (in the right neck of the woods) you decrease the bug factor, as opposed to kiling the spider... Granted you're not 'killing' the snake, but you are removing a critical factor in the local environment, which may end up just being a difficult 'pet' in the end...

PLEASE DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME, this is just my $.02...

I agree, let it go....they're cheap enough CB if you want one, and can get a healthy one that way, and guarenteed feeding.

It is a pretty little thing though. (-: Thanks for sharing the pics.
