Boa having a bad day?

ChaosCat Aug 27, 2003 06:39 PM

It is pretty warm here (85) so maybe that's the reason she did this.

I decided to take my adult female Sonoran out for awhile. Went downstairs, opened her enclosure, she follows my hand with her head.. so I use the hook and take her out. Set her carefully down on the floor, and the snot tears towards my foot like I'm dinner!

Now she's just been fed 3 days ago-can't be hungry already... right? There was no hissing or running away, so it wasn't a defense reaction, and I don't smell like food, so I'm not sure what her problem was. I also only feed her in a bucket, not in her enclosure or on the floor.

I just hooked her again and put her back-its way too hot to deal with an angry boa at the moment.

I am having the same problem with my colombian rainbow, only thing is, she won't eat either. She used to eat every 10 days like clock work. Now she hasn't ate in 2 months. Not losing any body mass, just doesn't eat. Now when I go to get her out, she hisses, shich lets me know I am not messing with her. I have had her for almost a year, and she has always been a very calm snake. Not sure what is going on.

How odd-I just got nailed for the first time by one of my brazilian rainbows a few days ago. Not sure what happened, I set her down on the floor to let her wander around, put my hand down, and bam! She didn't get me that badly though, just with her front 4 teeth-but I still bled alot.
