Question about dead mites

balldude Aug 28, 2003 09:15 PM

Just recently my boa got mites, and was treated with mite killers and etc. All the mites have been successfully gotten rid off but i still have a question. The dead mites under the skin covering the edge of his eyes, should i expect them to come out when he sheds and then see the swollen look go away, or what? Thanks, Brian.

I would recomend taking a q-tip dipped in peroxide and trying to swab them out, they probably will come off next shed, but until then they will be irritating the snake and it sounds like infection may already be starting. As always, just my opinion. Craig Kade
