Photo session of first Guinea pig

Marcel Poots Sep 01, 2003 02:43 AM

At 14 months she has had only rats untill now. Last week I tried a Guinea pigs but she refused it. So I rubbed the Guinea pig with a thawed chick and offered the chick first

Right after the chick she got interrested in the GP.

Yep, wham!

No problem.

huh, nice appetite.a little tip is,to don't feed your snake to often with guinees.snakes get to fat from dem.rats and rabbits are better.i dunno if you have planned to feed strictly guinees from now on,so i thought,i write it down

I've actually never heard of that.. I've heard GP's are difficult to digest due to thick skin and thick hair but never that they'd get any fatter off them...There's a few python species who feed on those naturally alot.. Its a staple in their diets. Its like an Anaconda eating a capybara... they're rodents.. massive rodents but rodents. My Africa Rock Python loved guinea pigs... of course.. she ate everything anyway... I can't stand GP's so I bought them as food.. She was at her perfect weight for 9 ft on a diet of those..

I have fed many snakes I owned Guinea pigs. Especially my Burmese pythons and yellow Anacona loved them. My Boa was eating two adult rats every three weeks and now I will give her the occaisional Guinea pigs. She is a big grower so she could use the extra calories
