I think it's kind of funny. I've also done some research and don't really think IBD is quite that high. I also believe I've read that Pythons aren't affected by it. (sorry if it's not true) While IBD remains to be a problem (mostly since theres not really any way to test for it still & I think biopsies of liver is to risky) I think that many people are freaking out when they would otherwise have nothing to worry about. If a snake has a problem it's probably more like either a husbandry problem or an actual heath problem that occurs randomly much like cancer can in humans. I'm not saying that there aren't actual disease for boas or snake in general, but I believe most of it is caused from human error. I know there are some people out there who don't really believe IBD exists like Jeff Ronne. I sorry if on one agrees with this, but these are my opinions.

I was going to post that the best way to test for it would be put a ball in with any new boa you get and see if it dies. I did not think they would like that idea on the ball forum though.Craig Kade
