Today I have got a call from a guy in Austria who bought this brazilian boa c. c. female back in 1988. The mother was from Belem/Brazil and has been gravid when she was exported. In Austria she gave birth to a litter of babies. The female in the photo was one of the young.

She was last measured two years ago. At that time she weighed 56 pound and has had almost 10 ft. in length. The photo has been taken about 5 years ago.

Since the animal is very aggressive meanwhile the owner considers to sell it to me. He told me that it is hard to part from her since he had her for 15 years. He is still thinking.
I understand that.

Wow, what a wonderful creature. I can see why you'd want her - A marvelous specimen by any standards.

Here is my only pair of boas that I own. I am mostly a python guy. I picked these up from Matt Turner who I believe bought them from Basically Boas. They are coming up on a year and growing nicely. I need to get some updated photos of them.

I love these redtails. They are my favourites. Some surinams or peruvians may be more colorful but the brazilians have something special in their appearence that make them unique in my eyes.
