My female breeder rat has development a lump between her upper legs. We are not sure what caused this!!! However she is no longer breeding. Hasn't had a batch since April. Would it be safe to feed her off or What????????? Thank you for any and all advise.

The lump is most likely a tumor (somewhat common in older rats).
Go ahead and feed her off. It will not have any adverse effects on your boa.

i wouldn't think it would be positive in any way and i'd be too worried about negative effects.

I've seen this sort of lump occasionally. The most likely cause is a cancer of the mammary tissue. I generally fed the rat to a boa or other snake. The tumor is just extra protein after the stomach acids and digestive enzymes get through digesting it. But if you want, you can always cut the lump out with scissors. Then you can feed the rat to the snake and feed the tumor to the earthworms.

We humans regularly eat tumors on KFC (extra crispy for me) so I reckon a tumor on a rat fed to a snake shouldn't be no big deal either.
Not picking on KFC just funny because we had a discussion about the issues of tumors on KFC just a few hours ago.
