I'm asking because I've heard so many different answers out there. Does my boa need a waterbowl big enough to soak in? Or would that case a problem with bacteria/fungus. Also what's the ideal Humidity for a BCI and how important is it? I have the humidty set at an average form what I found online, and so far I soak my boa myself. She's just 2ft and hasn't shed yet, jsut got her a few weeks ago =)

is the best way to figure out what he needs. If he tries to get in to his small waterbowl on occasion and can't because of the size then put a bigger bowl in. Not every snake will take advantage of a big waterbowl...as for the humidity, if you snake is shedding in one piece then the humidity is probably fine.

I would have to disagree. You should always offer the dish to be big enough for them to soak if they choose. Even if they don't use it to soak, it'll help with humidity and allow for easier access to drinking water. If a BCI isn't/doesn't soak chances are (I've found) that sheds don't come off as smoothly as they could, often flaking and removing hard (which is bad for the snake). As far as humidity goes, my two are almost always constantly around 50-60% and I try and mist daily. I mist more than once usually two or three times daily when I tell they're shedding cycle is beginning. Good Luck!
