What is the best substrate other then news paper for colombian boas?
I use bark mulch, preferrably cypress if you can find it. And of course stay away from cedar at all costs. Potting soil is good too, but can be messy. Special care should be taken to avoid ingestion during feeding if your snakes are still small.

I don't believe in luck. Luck is God covering your a** when you screw up.
I agree completely, Cypress Mulch is by far the best stuff I've found. Another great source is also Repti-Bark. This tends to need to be changed more frequently (every couple weeks). I've noticed a increased chance for mites, but good none the less.
