deman1101 Sep 08, 2003 05:56 PM

i just adopted my friends 2.5 year old male 6.5 foot red tail boa, he was really tame i have had him for 5 days and he just sits there curled up and when i go to pic him up he gets in a defense posture and won't let me pic him up, he'll let me touch him but as soon as i start to pick him up he runs away and stares at my hand any ideas would be appriciated, thanks

Let the guy get used to his new home.Give him a couple of weeks to get settled and feeding. Then try handling for short periods of time.It should come around nicely for you...Paul.

thanks for the answer that is what i was thinking, he is already feeding which could have been the problem he ate on the 6th and has been a bit grumpy, which i understand.
