Importance of a day/night schedule

i mentioned in a previous post that I am new to snakes, and I need some more opinions. Is it important to have a day/night temperature and light cycle for a BC. I have had great luck with a permanent heat/light cycle for my monitors, but i wanted to know whether this husbandry technique can transfer over to boas. Thanks for the help
