This is my male that was produced by two normal adults . He is now one year old.

I think that Dumerils looks great even though it doesn't have huch red it is very light and bright. Were any others in the litter like that one?

Okay, this will be the first time I even try to explain this to the "masses". First of YES, unfortunately that is a kink! Anyway...here goes. If you have seen Jason of ClassicDums "Hypo" dumerils this will all make more sense. Kevin Hanley purchased some "Swedish" line animals from Dr. Schuette(Sp) and bred a pair together producing the "hypo" Jason now owns. Prior to the sale of the "hypo" I purchased the female that produced the "hypo" and 1.2 others.(siblings) I bred a pair of siblings together this past season and the female produced 4.2 babies. Out of the litter, the biggest baby was this "hypo" dumerils. With the background of the parents and grandparent of these animals, I am assuming that the parents to this animal are hets for this trait. The simple odds of this coming out of the blue are worse in my opinion than these animals carrying a trait. I had 4 litters of dumerils this season, and multiple litters in the past...never once have any of them looked like this dumerils. I kept the entire litter and will be breeding them and the parents again in the future. Plus I bred the male to one of my original females giving me POSSIBLE 50% hets IF the trait is genetic and IF it is recessive, and not just(as entirely possible) a fluke. So, there's the long and short of it, form your own opinion. I would almost bet Snakeman97's pair of normal appearing adults came from this line as well, but THAT is definitely pure assumption on my part, but if it were true, then my thoughts on this trait would hold a lot more water. I guess we'll find out in the years to come. Take care, hope you enjoy the pic and the info.
